Who Are We
Chartered in 1985, with locations in the development zone of Washington, D.C., the Economic Empowerment Zone of Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and St. Petersburg, Florida; CSMI was established to assist communities in alleviating unemployment, under employment, inadequate community development, and social service needs. CSMI has the capability to provide a broad range of services to government, business, institutions of higher educations, and community based organizations. These services include manpower development for area employers, occupational skills training, job counseling, strategic planning, feasibility studies, program design, and administration and evaluation.
CSMI's staff is sensitive to community needs and has extensive backgrounds in formulating productive and innovative programs that contribute to individual self-sufficiency and strengthening communities through JTPA funding sources. The firm has formed a number of partnerships for progress, most notably in job training and placement with the D.C. Department of Employment Services, job training and placement with the Department of Housing and Urban Development, support services for wards of the D.C. Superior Court, association management of the Ward Eight Merchants Associations, economic development in the private sector, and a number of feasibility studies for critically-needed development projects. Placement has been in a wide variety of occupations.
CSMI maintains that providing expert and high quality services is the key to organizational growth. The firm is committed to developing creative and innovative approaches to assisting in reducing the unemployment rate and improving the quality of life for individuals who have been locked out of the mainstream and the American Dream.
