Raised in rural North Carolina, Ms. Ray began her career of community activism early on and has continued her dedication to community improvement, both professionally, and in her private life as well. This commitment is evident through her involvement in her sorority, volunteerism activities and mentorship of “at-risk” youth. Ms. Ray graduated from Fayetteville State University with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting and Finance. While in college, she honed her leadership skills on the ladies basketball team, in student government as the business manager and through her esteemed sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority Incorporated.

As an exceptional and ambitious management and financial executive, Monica T. Ray has over fifteen years of experience in fiscal and operational management with corporate and non-profit entities. Monica has a long record of success in the areas of workforce development, business and program development, community and public relations, economic development, proposal writing, real estate development and property management. For more than fifteen years, Ms. Ray has simultaneously served as Executive Director of Congress Heights Community Training and Development Corporation and Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Capitol Services Management, Inc.

Ms. Ray oversees all day-to-day aspects of both companies– from bricks and mortar to human capital development. Ms. Ray is also particularly adept at managing the community and public relations aspects of development activities. In these complementary leadership positions in companies geared toward stimulating economic development, Ms. Ray emerged as a leader in her industry by combining both innovative management solutions and sound fiscal operations.
